The ghost is fast, freaky fast. That was the first thing I noticed about it. I also noticed how smooth it turns from rail to rail.
I’ve ridden a couple of these shapes and I really enjoy how effortlessly you can surf them.
You don’t need to pump, chop, hop, or flail to generate speed.
The shape seems to do all the work for you,
as if its trying to help you create a smoother style.
I’ve noticed a big change in the way I surf since riding The Ghost. Todd noticed it too when we were in Peru.
It’s helped me link my turns into one continuous motion
without the wishy-washy pumps and hops in between maneuvers.
The width runs a little higher towards the nose, sort of similar to Da Monsta but yet has a standard shortboard size.
That really helps me with two things: when doing airs or throwtails and my weight is on my front foot, and second,
I can take this board out in waves knee high to double head-high.
It rides responsive like Da Monsta but feels more reliable in large surf because there is more board under your feet.
Needless to say, I’ll continue ordering Ghosts because I love em’ and I know what I’m going to get every time.
Todd, keep on pumping these puppies out cause’ I can’t get enough!

I’ve been able to take out the board quite a few times and…
My Monsta rips! So much fun blowin past longboarders here in Oceanside.
I couldn’t ask for a more responsive and well balanced board!
This board is helping me take my surfing to the next level!

It must be magic cuz 2-4’+ and only 3 other guys out for an 1-1/2 hr…what a great way to break in a board.
I’ll let you know when I’m ready for the Monsta

everything about it is better than the bigger quad board I was riding.
Hi Charissa,
Love the board – took it out 3 times since I got it and
everything about it is better than the bigger quad board I was riding.
I’m glad Todd had me bring down the height to 5’9″…
its doesn’t feel to short at all.
Good swell coming in today down here in the OC – perfect timing on the new board.
Thanks to the Proctor team!

flying past the usual close out section…

went to Leo yesterday with Taylor after school for a quick session…had it to ourselves…caught a few 5ft waves and sooooo enjoyed….
I found the sweet spot on the board–>took a bit wider stance on the board & it just took off…awesome!!!
(my old blue board would slow way down if a wider stance)
Soooo pumped….flew down Leo’s line at least 100yds–flying past the usual close out section…
Whoop wwhhhoopppp!!!

I feel like I’m on a different level in my surfing
Proctor,
You are a master at your craft.
So stoked on the new Blackbird!
The first time I paddled out, not the best of days cause I couldn’t wait any longer,
I thought it was too small but that changed until when I caught my first wave and I realized how fast and loose it was. I took it out to cottons,
that’s when magic happened,
it allowed me to do everything I wanted it to with not even thinking about it,
I feel like I’m on a different level in my surfing.
Your my go to guy for future boards to come.
Thanks

it continues to shock me at what it is capable of
Hi Todd and Charissa,
Just wanted to say that I am absolutely stoked out of my mind on my new Blackbird.
I think my dominant feeling towards the board is shock,
because it continues to shock me at what it is capable of.
I got it into my head that because this board was smaller then my old G4, it would have been much more of a workout to paddle and get into waves. This wasn’t even remotely the case, for as soon as I hit the water, I immediately noticed how easy it was to paddle. I’ve ridden some of my buddies’ similar short boards, and I found paddling them was the defining factor, not the case with the Blackbird. But all of that aside, this board is absolutely mental once I am up and riding.
Its like the board is reading my mind,
going exactly where I want it to
the second I think it.
It turns on a dime, and loves to be on its rails; its like the board is just begging me to push it more and more every time I take off. The way it releases off the top is insane, it caught me off guard at first and I had a couple nice flops getting use to it. But now, once again, its like the board reads my mind: if I want to release the tail, it does, and when I am done it becomes tame again and settles down the wave. Absolutely ridiculous. It has only been 3 days and I feel like I’ve taken my surfing relatively further then in the past year.
Loving your guys’ work,
I can’t get enough of this board. If I am not out riding on it, all I can think about is when I can get back out there on it. I am addicted. I am already dreaming about my next board, but all things in due time.
Thanks,
Conrad Trzeciecki
